SOLVD Instrument Solutions: Solving the Complexity of Laboratory Instrument Maintenance

SOLVD Instrument Solutions

Solving the Complexity of Laboratory Instrument Maintenance

Maintaining laboratory instruments is rarely as simple as scheduling a repair or signing a service agreement. For GMP and QC laboratories, every maintenance decision involves multiple considerations such as response time, cost, compliance documentation, and the long-term reliability of critical equipment. SOLVD Instrument Solutions, Inc has built its service model around addressing these challenges by offering laboratories a faster, more flexible, and more customized approach to instrument maintenance and compliance. Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Danvers, MA, SOLVD provides preventative maintenance, repairs, IQ/OQ/PQ qualifications, relocation services, and service agreements for laboratory instruments used by pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology organizations, and academic research facilities across the U.S.

Columbia Biosciences

Beyond Conjugation toward Application-Ready Reagents

Alexei V. Miagkov, Director of Discovery Services

Researchers often discover conjugate performance problems only after experiments begin. A labeled antibody may meet purity and degree-of-labeling specifications yet behave differently in its intended assay, leaving researchers troubleshooting the reagent instead of advancing their work. Columbia Biosciences addresses this challenge by expanding beyond its established fluorescent protein and conjugation business into Mass Spectrometry, Immunocytometry and Linker Chemistry. These services form an integrated workflow, allowing customers to have conjugates developed, quality-controlled, characterized and, when required, functionally validated within one organization. Customers can receive application-ready reagents supported by analytical and biological evidence before beginning downstream experiments. The integration also allows Columbia's team to investigate performance issues and refine conjugation strategies before the material reaches the customer's laboratory..

Pharma 2.0 War Games Are Built to Win the Market, Not Just Compete

Dr. Stan Bernard, President

The pharmaceutical marketplace has changed fundamentally. Since the late 1990s, the industry has entered a new lifecycle stage—the Competition Stage—defined by more products, more competitors, more stakeholders and exponentially more competitive noise. Yet many pharmaceutical companies continue to rely on Pharma 1.0 competitive approaches developed for the Commercialization Stage that began in the 1960s. Bernard Associates recognized this structural shift and created the Pharma 2.0 Winning System™, a proprietary framework purpose-built for competing—and winning—in today’s pharmaceutical marketplace. The company exclusively applies this system to the design and execution of its Pharma 2.0 War Games. “Pharma 1.0 War Games were created to anticipate the competition. Pharma 2.0 War Games are designed to beat the competition,” says Dr. Stan Bernard, President of Bernard Associates. Traditional Pharma 1.0 War Games are based on a military model focused primarily on anticipating competitors and differentiating one brand from another. Pharma 2.0 War Game competitors operate an election-style campaign and do NOT win by differentiating their brands. They win by ‘Creating the Agenda’—defining and owning a game only they can win. That requires influencing not only traditional Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), but also multiple ‘Pharma 2.0 Opinion Leaders’ (MOLs, IOLs, COLs, SOLs and others)..

Stingray Therapeutics

Restoring Innate Immunity against Cancer

Jonathan Northrup, Co-founder and CEO

Stingray Therapeutics is developing Vizenpistat (SR-8541A) around a gap in cancer immunotherapy. Cancer treatment spans chemotherapy, targeted therapy, radiation, surgery and immune therapy, but each has limits. Stingray focuses on the immune system, which can recognize and eliminate cancer but can be disabled once tumors establish themselves. The immune system fights cancer through two synergistic arms, adaptive immunity and innate immunity. Existing checkpoint inhibitors all work through the adaptive arm, but their effect is poor when tumors suppress innate immunity. Stingray is targeting ENPP1, an enzyme cancer can use to disable that innate response. “The immune system only works well to kill cancers when both arms, adaptive and innate, are active, and can synergize together,” says Jonathan Northrup, Co-founder and CEO..

Clinical Laboratory

Lighthouse Lab Services

Building Clinical Laboratory Success through Integrated Expertise

Jason Severtson, CEO and Jon Harol, Founder

Clinical laboratories operate in a demanding environment where scientific innovation must align with regulatory requirements, operational discipline, and business models. Lighthouse Lab Services supports organizations navigating this landscape by bringing together consulting, staffing, compliance, validation, revenue cycle management, and laboratory infrastructure expertise under one platform. It works with organizations that rely on diagnostics to advance patient care, research, and innovation. Rather than functioning as a laboratory itself, the company provides solutions to diagnostic laboratories without competing with the clients it serves. Lighthouse’s approach enables laboratory owners and operators to access expertise throughout the lifecycle of a laboratory. From developing laboratory plans and obtaining CLIA certifications to validating tests and establishing quality systems, Lighthouse helps clients create compliant laboratory operations. The company also supports medical oversight by providing qualified laboratory directors and helps organizations build teams with appropriately credentialed personnel across laboratory roles. Addressing Industry Challenges Clinical laboratories face persistent challenges involving staffing shortages, reimbursement changes, regulatory requirements, and operational efficiency. Lighthouse addresses these issues by combining scientific understanding with practical business guidance. Jon Harol, Founder, Lighthouse Lab Services, explains, “We help advance life science discoveries. If someone identifies a new biomarker or something that has diagnostic significance in the lab, we take it and commercialize it by bringing it into the clinical diagnostic environment.” The company assists organizations with test validation, laboratory design, instrument selection, payer credentialing, coding guidance, and reimbursement strategies. By understanding both the scientific and commercial sides of laboratory operations, Lighthouse helps clients avoid common obstacles that can delay growth or limit success..

Brandwidth Solutions LLC

Smarter Lead Generation Through Strategy and Science

Debra Harrsch, CEO

Running a lead generation campaign without the right supporting actors can make even the strongest script fall flat. As every organization brings its own voice, vision, and innovation to the market, its lead generation strategy must reflect what sets that business apart. For science-driven companies, that requires understanding the science, the audience, and the problem being solved in a crowded market. Brandwidth Solutionsbrings scientific expertise to the process, translating complex technical offerings into messaging centered on customer value. The company starts by understanding what the client wants to achieve and where it wants to go, then builds the lead generation strategy around those priorities, helping move prospects through the buying journey and toward sales conversations. “Lead generation is the script. It comes to life when strategy, content, thought leadership, design, measurement, and follow-up combine to tell each client’s unique story,” says Debra Harrsch, CEO. Brandwidth Solutions’ team includes PhD-level scientists — biochemists, chemists, and biochemical engineers — with combined expertise across pharma, academia, and business. Their scientific fluency helps the team identify what differentiates an offering from its competitors and shape messaging around the customer’s problem. That expertise is especially valuable when prospects navigate long buying journeys that can span a year and move across websites, webinars, case studies, advertising, and trade shows before engaging sales..
