On booking a diagnostic test, via a physician or direct access testing from an individual patient, a well-trained and certified phlebotomist visits the patient to draw or collect the specimen and transport it to the laboratory. Once the specimen is received, it is processed, which is then entered into Wellness Labs’ proprietary software in order to report results. If there is a positive pathogen detected, the reports provide additional analytics that are not included in routine physical examinations or health checks.

What sets Wellness Labs apart are its laboratory reporting and diagnostic testing services. It is a CLIA licensed high-complexity level II lab and COLA certified. The analytical and clinical validation of its reports identifies and quantifies clinically relevant pathogens, including bacteria, RNA viruses, fungi, and parasites. It partners with epidemiologists and pharmacists to generate detailed clinical laboratory reports for patient-specific treatment plans. These tests not only provide an accurate diagnosis of the pathogens found in the test but can additionally detect the presence of resistance genes and identify the causative agent so that directed patient treatment can be initiated.

All tests that report a positive pathogen detection include a QR code that can be scanned with any QR scanning application available on any device to authenticate and reproduce the test report online. In addition, Wellness Labs provided the client with the contact information of the epidemiologists who conducted the analysis, allowing them to ask questions about a patient’s test results. This allowed them to get a more in-depth understanding of the test results and provide the right treatment plan for the patient.

In another instance, when a nursing home switched to Wellness Labs' services, it greatly benefited from the expertise of not one but eight phlebotomists who were well-versed in specimen collection and handling.
