Omega Laboratories is recognized as a leader in quality laboratory testing solutions with fast turnaround times.

“We make a difference in Canada by bringing much-needed testing capacity to a stressed system. Traditionally, there have been limited options for clients to use high-quality labs with excellent services. That’s why we started two labs, in British Columbia and Ontario, which got accredited to both local and International (ISO) standards,” says Dr. Gio Miletto, Omega’s GM for Canada.

Omega achieved this by leveraging its twenty-three years of experience and streamlined processes, from sample collection and testing to quickly and accurately reporting results to clients.

Omega realizes that laboratory service providers must always be responsive to clients’ needs. The company, to this end, utilizes a secure IT network that allows for paperless test requests or generates custody and control forms and transmits results to its secure web portal. These solutions bring huge efficiency gains for clients by eliminating errors and manual handling of orders and results.

Omega’s organizational structure is another example of its client-centric approach. Clients can call and speak directly to anyone they need to, whether it’s the CEO, lab director, or president, to get things done. The company goes above and beyond to satisfy local and international laboratory standards and expectations and ensures clients get the highest level of quality.

Omega’s online order system is flexible and allows clients to use it for rapid/point-of-care testing or lab-based testing. Users can access it from a desktop computer or a tablet (and even from a place where WiFi is spotty or nonexistent). Data from the device is then synced with Omega’s systems when the device is connected to the internet. All the data is fully encrypted locally and in the cloud. Results from rapid/point-of-care testing are pushed to Omega’s reporting portal as soon as they are available.

In an instance, Omega partnered with an energy company requiring rapid urine testing and results from around the world. They had problems getting test kits into Asia and getting samples out of some countries to their current lab provider. Omega was able to use its existing relationships to source test kits, obtain export permits, and partner with a quality laboratory to meet this client’s needs.

Our expertise, supply chain, global reach, and patented technologies always keep us a notch above the rest

Omega is expanding its Canadian operations to offer toxicology testing with NLCP (SAMHSA) accreditation and looking forward to offering this to new and existing clients. The company’s success continues to spread as they open new labs around the world.

“Our expertise, supply chain, global reach, and patented technologies always keep us a notch above the rest. Our focus on innovation has enabled us to create more IP than our larger competitors,” says Miletto.
