The Orbitrap Exploris GC 240 MS offers breakthrough performance, reliability, and the depth of analysis required to address the most complex analytical hurdles, supporting researchers to make groundbreaking discoveries.

FREMONT, CA: Addressing the demand for increased speed, flexibility, and accuracy in research applications throughout academic and industry laboratories, a new gas chromatography (GC) high-resolution mass spectrometer (MS) with unrivaled mass resolving power, sensitivity, and dynamic range provides researchers the potential to get new depths of analysis and drive scientific understanding. With new-generation system architecture and instrument control software, the system offers simple yet potential data acquisition abilities, addressing the most demanding analytical hurdles.

The Thermo Scientific Orbitrap Exploris GC 240 MS takes research potentials to a new level with a resolving power of 240,000 for accelerated innovation. By offering quantitative and qualitative information from a single injection, the new system allows precise and comprehensive compound identification, enabling researchers to make fast and accurate discoveries with confidence. As research laboratories need the versatility to answer several questions in their studies, the Orbitrap Exploris GC 240 MS also offers the flexibility to manage a diverse range of analytical hurdles, from identifying unknown contaminants and extractables leachables to applied quantification and metabolomics.

The system provides the potential of MS/MS for compound structural information and both electron and chemical ionization without system venting to accelerate time to result.

For metabolomics experiments, the potential to achieve such high selectivity and maintain sensitivity is revolutionary for the research. Having seamless access to this data certainty and such wide coverage opens up new research avenues.  Users of the Orbitrap Exploris GC 240 MS will benefit from the analytical dynamic range across six orders, offering accurate quantitation and identification of chemical components at trace and high concentrations and a standardized setup and easy-to-use system users with varying levels of technical experience.

The new system, along with the Thermo Scientific Orbitrap Exploris GC, widens the Thermo Scientific Orbitrap Exploris portfolio of high-resolution accurate-mass systems, which is now comprised of the Thermo Scientific Orbitrap Exploris 480 mass spectrometer, released in 2019, and the recently introduced Thermo Scientific Orbitrap Exploris 240 and Thermo Scientific Orbitrap Exploris 120 mass spectrometers.
