StratixLab's Instant Inoculator, QC microorganisms, is a new, ready-to-use solution that uses a simple one-step way to deliver reference microorganisms to solid media.
Fremont, CA: Microbiology testing, including quality control for the clinical, pharmaceutical, medical device, food and beverage, cosmetic, and dietary supplement industries, relies heavily on reference microorganisms. “We set out to create a product that simplifies microbiology testing across industries. As a company founded by microbiologists, we know that increasing efficiency and reducing risk of error is important,” states Mark Mulvahill, CEO Stratix Labs. Stratix Labs has introduced Instant Inoculator, QC microorganisms, a new ready-to-use device that uses a simple one-step way to deliver reference microorganisms to solid media. Authentic reference microorganisms are coated and kept on the applicator region of each device, which is individually sealed. The Instant Inoculator transfers isolated colonies to solid media using a patent-pending method. It does not require any preparation, rehydration, or liquid handling.
To achieve an optimal spread of isolated colonies, simply distribute the Instant Inoculator on solid media for 5-10 seconds. “With Instant Inoculator, we’ve set the bar for the easiest way to use reference microorganisms in microbiology applications,” addsMulvahill.
“By eliminating all prep work, including rehydration and liquid handling steps, Instant Inoculatoris positioned as the easiest and simplest way to work with reference microorganisms. And with its one-step direct transfer method, it reduces opportunity for error and contamination in microbiology testing workflows,” concludes Mark Mulvahill.
Instant Inoculator is designed for use with solid media, such as standard agar plates and other systems for growing microbes, such as dry sheet media. In the Instant Inoculator format, a range of reference strains are accessible, and Stratix Labs is continually growing the number of available strains. In the Instant Inoculator format, Stratix Labs welcomes proposals for additional reference strains or environmental isolates.
