Due to the rapidly advancing forensic technology, it is hard to keep up to date on current trends and emerging forensic techniques that can help remediate a case.

FREMONT, CA: Bioanalytical studies are an essential aspect of biological drug development because data from these studies are required to define the features of potential new biologics. Bioanalyses data are also a necessary inclusion in regulatory filings, driving the requirement for outsourcing partners with in-depth bioanalytical experience and experience interacting with regulatory authorities. Bioanalysts’ objective is to consistently offer accurate and reliable data according to rigorous scientific and regulatory expectations, ensuring the success of the non-clinical and clinical programs.

Over the last few years, several innovations have been made on these techniques to enhance their sensitivity and selectivity for gaining reliable data from forensic evidence. Overall, this enhancement in technology in such a short time has increased the efficiency of finding a guilty party and excluding innocent bystanders. Besides, microbiome analyses of bacterial colonies on the human skin have shown promise in forensics for both the physical traits and lifestyle of a culprit or victim, which can assist associate them with trace evidence and the crime scene environment.

Emerging developments in vibrational spectroscopy, comprising deep ultraviolet resonance Raman and infrared spectroscopy, have helped enhancements in gunshot residue analysis, another vital form of trace evidence. The use of 3D scanning technologies can help investigators analyze markings left on a bullet by a weapon. Several of these devices are portable and handheld, facilitating quick on-scene analysis of different types of evidence. Several industry leaders and manufacturers of devices tailored to enable reliable and rapid evaluation of forensic evidence will be in attendance to demonstrate their cutting-edge equipment.
