Four main categories of biotechnology are divided into red, white, green, and blue color.
Fremont, CA: There are many distinct forms of biotechnology, and they are curiously divided into color categories. Although there are several methods for classifying biotechnology, using a color code is the most common. This is used to make it easier to remember how to categorize the various fields of biotechnology study. Biotechnology crosses several sectors, including medicine, marine science, environmental science, and industrial science, because it is a multi-disciplinary science.
Medical biotechnology (red), industrial biotechnology (white), environmental biotechnology (green), and marine biotechnology (blue) are the four primary categories of biotechnology.
Medical biotechnology (red)
The pharmaceutical sector and the medical profession both benefit from red biotechnology. It aids in improving patients' quality of life while also reducing their suffering.
Red biotechnology can determine the appropriate drug dosages for patients, paving the way for more personalized drugs and therapies based on a person's genetic code. This will alter the future of medicine and enable doctors to serve their patients in a more individual and personalized manner.
Industrial biotechnology (white)
Industrial biotechnology utilizes live cells obtained from plants, bacteria, and yeast to develop products that require fewer resources to manufacture. They also generate fewer wastes.
Industrial biotechnology has already made significant contributions. For instance, bacterial enzymes have been utilized to produce food and washing powder to reduce the usage of artificial substances. Industrial biotechnology is the largest branch of biotechnology.

Its main goal is to employ technology to develop innovative processes that consume fewer natural resources and energy than traditional techniques.
Environmental and agricultural Biotechnology (green)
Both agriculture and environment are put into the green color category. Green biotechnology focuses on agricultural technologies, such as finding new ways to create better crops or developing new biopesticides to reduce the number of chemicals needed by farmers. The primary purpose of environmental biotechnology is to combine biology and engineering. This can lead to the development of new cleaning procedures for polluted locations. Fungi, bacteria, and microbes are frequently used to remove pollutants from the environment in an organic way.
Marine biotechnology (blue)
Blue biotechnology is commonly referred to as the fourth major biotechnology category. It is the study of marine creatures to explore them for various human uses, such as developing novel medicines or dietary supplements to improve human health.
For various purposes, blue biotechnology uses many marine animals and resources, such as shellfish, algae, and other things. For example, ziconotide, a chemical generated from cone snail venom, is reported to be an excellent painkiller for humans.
