Different Types of Clinical Trial Recruitment Strategies

A dependable clinical trial patient recruitment company will incorporate a range of outreach methods designed to reach patients quickly and efficiently.

FREMONT, CA: The most effective clinical trial recruitment tactics begin with a patient-centered approach because it can become innovative. An effective clinical trial patient recruitment strategy includes different outreach strategies developed to reach patients rapidly and efficiently while also giving them the information they need to move forward.

The patient voice should ideally be included in the study's design to determine that it addresses patient requirements. It's considerably more difficult to attract patients if a trial doesn't have significant objectives.

A survey was done to learn more about patient preferences for several kinds of clinical trials, including observational, interventional, trials to treat side effects, and trials for entirely new drugs.

The survey has implications for how different types of clinical trials are marketed to patients and recommend questions to ask during patient focus groups before the start of a trial. Patients with chronic conditions, for example, were less likely to enroll in a drug or therapy trial than oncology patients or chronic and acute patients.

These trials must emphasize the advantages of participating and how the investigational medicine may be superior to existing treatments. Patients may be less willing to accept the risk of trying anything new because finding the proper treatment for chronic illnesses like lupus might take time.

Share the trial with local health care providers

Connecting with primary care providers and specialists is another patient-centered strategy for recruitment.

According to a study, 64 percent of people prefer to hear about clinical trial chances through their doctors.

The recruitment companies can consider putting up outreach materials for doctors that include essential trial information. Use the network to share the news about the trial if the business site has connections with nearby hospitals or other healthcare professionals in the area.

Connect with nonprofit partners and patient advocates

Working with local nonprofits and those involved in advocacy communities can help the companies contact patients in the area who aren't currently in their database. According to the research, patients are more inclined to believe information about trials they receive from nonprofit organizations than they are from advertisements.

Run digital recruitment campaigns that meet patients remotely

Trial teams can employ digital advertising to contact patients beyond the site databases and deploy messages that resonate with interested individuals.

Patients may be given more time to contemplate participating if they are introduced to digital advertising, and reminders may be sent to them. While a research site will only send one email and a reminder to its database about a trial offer, patients who view a trial landing page but do not act can be re-targeted and given another chance to sign up using cookie monitoring.
