Founded in 2017 by the three visionaries—Dr. Julian J Javier, Juan C. Ramos, M.S, and Dr. Hector Cordero—Advanced Research for Health Improvement LLC (ARHI) is a clinical research site focusing on the advancement of medicine and the improvement of people’s lives. In 2020, Dr. Leandro Perez joined this core team as a shareholder and is now part of ARHI’s esteemed list of leaders as a Medical Director. With a combined experience of over five decades in conducting clinical trials, this Naples, Florida-based company helps drug developers and clinicians enhance outcomes.

Having conducted many successful clinical trials in the areas of heart failure, heart disease, aging frailty, and Alzheimer’s disease, ARHI understands that diverse participation along with access to accurate, real-time data are essential to the success of any clinical trial. To this end, the company partners with local and national health providers, including doctors, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants, to ensure recruiting at the grassroots level and spread awareness of the importance of clinical trials. ARHI ensures an inclusive representation of patients, providing them with exceptional care while collecting precise, usable data.

ARHI also encourages medical providers who send their patients for trials to get involved during the study as principal investigators (PI) to develop new therapeutic techniques for the treatment of disorders and diseases. The company equips these PIs with the right tools and systems, such as cloud-based clinical research and trials management systems that allow them to fulfill their responsibilities remotely. In addition, medical providers who participate in the trials as PI gain access to the enormous volume of data produced during the study.

ARHI’s team of clinical research coordinators, regulatory staff, and PIs set the company apart from the competition. The clinical research coordinators remain on their toes 24/7 to do assessments or specimen collection from patients’ homes or hospitals. In addition, the company has regulatory specialists that ensure every critical regulatory detail is taken into consideration during a trial. The dedication of these people has been instrumental in enabling ARHI to achieve the top enroller spot for a Merck-sponsored trial during the pandemic. The trial was focused on a novel treatment methodology for ambulatory patients who had coronavirus infections. The enrollment for this trial was a huge success owing to their satellite sites that supported trial accessibility of remote participants.

We were recognized as the top enroller and were chosen to be in the body of authors for the New England Journal of Medicine

The successful enrollment got them an invitation to participate in a site audit by a UK medical body. The interrogating body demanded time and labor-intensive performance from ARHI that involved late-night hospital visits and exceptional performance from its clinical research coordinators and PIs. “At the end of the vigorous auditing process, we were recognized as the top enroller and were chosen to be in the body of authors for the New England Journal of Medicine,” says Juan C. Ramos, Director, Research and Clinical Trials, ARHI. The landmark journal published the data ARHI produced from the trial along with several other sites around the globe.

For maintaining and further enhancing its performance, ARHI is actively recruiting PIs and ramping up PI education and compliance while raising awareness about its highly qualified clinical research site. The company is also utilizing different marketing and advertising strategies across clinical research websites, radio, television, and social media to increase its presence in the local market.
