The process begins with the arrival of the biopsies at APS' lab, where each is given a barcode for tracking purposes. The biopsy's progress is tracked from the conversion into a pathology slide to the pathologist's analysis and report creation. The report is then sent directly to the referring doctor's electronic medical record (EMR) or accessed via a secure portal using a code on the doctor's mobile device. The report contains useful information on the biopsy's location and identifies areas of inflammation, malignancy, and dysplasia. In addition, APS provides PCR testing for wounds, evaluating wound swabs to determine the best course of treatment for chronic or acute wounds.
