Because of high cell survival the procedure can be done in one-step with durable, natural results, avoiding the need for repeat interventions, hospitalization and anesthesia. The injectable format also minimises scarring and surgical complexity.Stored at room temperature in lyophilised form, the bio-interactive, GMP-compliant material can be easily reconstituted and mixed with harvested fat cells in the operating room. This ensures seamless integration into current surgical practice without adding time or complexity, while maintaining safety and consistent operational excellence.
In a preclinical study supporting breast reconstruction, 4Tissue's Class III medical device was mixed with autologous fat and injected into soft tissue defects. Over the three-month study, the hydrogel protected cells from mechanical damage, enhanced neovascularisation and nearly doubled retained volume compared to the lipofilling-only control group.
