How Remote Monitoring can Improve Healthcare Delivery?

Life Sciences Review | Friday, July 09, 2021
Tweet

Remote patient monitoring integrates healthcare into the patient's life, rather than the other way around. Patients can receive therapy when, when, and how they choose because they do not have to physically come in.

FREMONT, CA: When it comes to healthcare, the term "remote" can conjure up negative connotations. Remote monitoring, often known as virtual health or telehealth, refers to healthcare services delivered by advanced technologies such as videos, applications, imaging, artificial intelligence, and, of course, phones.

In this situation, remote merely implies that two persons are not physically present in the same room – not that they are not linked. Indeed, research has demonstrated that remote patient monitoring, when undertaken by healthcare specialists, has the potential to affect outcomes and decrease costs, as well as keep patients calm, particularly during tough periods like the present COVID-19 pandemic.

Here are some ways remote monitoring enhances the patient-centric care delivery model.

Remote Monitoring Is Flexible

Remote patient monitoring can be used in two ways: as a supplement or as a replacement for in-person care delivery. This allows clinicians the freedom to change their care model based on the demands of their patient group, organizational skills, and resource availability.

Remote patient monitoring not only assists clinicians in addressing evolving difficulties, but it also aids in maintenance. When ongoing care is required, it enables healthcare to become a part of a patient's everyday routine. Instead of a trip to the doctor, care becomes an alarm on a smartphone or an alert on a computer. As a result, the day-to-day applications of care can be addressed quickly and efficiently.

Remote Monitoring Builds Robust Relationships

A providers, it is understandable that finding and establishing a relationship with a care provider is one of the most difficult challenges in healthcare. One in every four Americans does not have a primary care physician (PCP), and the number is growing. Connectivity can be increased by allowing patients to form and build a trusting therapeutic partnership with clinicians afar.

Patients Receive Care when and where they Need it

Remote patient monitoring integrates healthcare into the patient's life, rather than the other way around. Patients can receive therapy when, when, and how they choose because they do not have to physically come in. It is a factor that is becoming increasingly important to the nine out of ten Americans who use the Internet.
